Serving Opportunities: Worship
The most important thing that happens each week centers on the time our church family gathers in the presence of Christ in worship. As you will see below that time together does not happen without the teamwork of many different people serving in many different ways…
Jazz Liturgy – Be a part of this exciting NEW opportunity to infuse your talents and improvisational skills into Liturgy for Worship and/or Concert opportunities. Adults and Mature Young Adults with their own instruments are encouraged to get involved. Singers/Song Leaders are also needed.
Drama Ministry- It’s about IMPACT! Help enhance worship by performing and sharing the message through drama.
Greeters Ministry- Help welcome people as they arrive for worship. If God has blessed you with a great smile what a great way to serve!
Altar Guild- Prepare the Altar for all worship services. Set up for baptisms and communion. Training is available. Commitment to a rotating schedule. Usual time frame is one month, four times per year.
Communion Assistants-Help the Pastors distribute the Lord’s Supper to the congregation. Rotating schedule, training provided.
Data Entry- Entering church attendance cards filled out by members and guests. Approximate time is 2-3 hours per month. Connection ministry is looking for data entry volunteers to enter service areas of congregation members.
Nursery Aides- Volunteers are needed to staff the church nursery during service times, congregation meetings and New Members classes.
Sound/Technology Ministry- Operates and maintains sophisticated audio, visual and computer technology. Commitment consists of attending training sessions, practice sessions, worship choir night attendance and a rotating schedule for the services. Opportunities will grow with new sound system. Adults and mature young adults.
Ushers- Make people feel comfortable at all of our services. Commit to the rotation schedules. A great way for whole families to serve together.
Lectors-Reading Scripture lessons during worship services.
Bulletin Assembly- Weekly worship folder is printed and assembled on Wednesday in our church office. Estimated time is 2-3 hours each Wednesday.
Serving Opportunities: Other Ministries
Connection Ministry- Assist volunteers to find the right place for their talents. Help the congregation find the help they need. Talents are entered into a database for the church and the connection is made when a talent is matched with a service needed.
Finance Ministry- Provides guidance, oversight, and recommendations for financial matters, all that are related to the Church. Responsible for managing the congregation’s finances. Finance/Accounting background helpful.
Missions Ministry- Educate the congregation of worldwide and community mission possibilities and promote participation. Also stewards the direction of Mission Fund donations on behalf of the congregation.
Outreach Ministry- Encourage the congregation in its mission of reaching out to people in the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Prayer Ministry- Encourage members of Saint Paul’s to grow in their relationship with God through prayer.
Properties Ministry- Painting, repairs, and building projects to maintain and enhance our church building, parsonage, and other properties owned by the church.
Home Care Visits- Help sit for a homebound family member of a Saint Paul’s family. Caregiver may need break, run errands or attend church.
Prayer Chain- Committed to intercessory prayer. Prayer requests are accepted and weekly prayer sessions are scheduled.
Christian Growth Ministry- Provides opportunities for growth in the Word of God for children, youth and adults. This ministry directs care groups and Christian Growth seminars held at Saint Paul’s.
